Since its establishment in 1989, Kona’s Deli has been a cornerstone of the San Luis Obispo community and a beloved reference point for Cal Poly students. We are known for our relaxed beach atmosphere, creating a fun, friendly, and welcoming environment for everyone who walks through our doors.In June 2014, owners Mattia and Filippo brought a new chapter to Kona’s.We take immense pride in the quality of our ingredients:
Locally Sourced: Our bread is delivered daily from Matt’s Bakery, and our avocados come locally.
Fresh & Natural: We use premium meats and fresh ingredients sliced on order.
Made from Scratch: Our sandwiches are crafted from unique recipes, and our cookies are baked fresh right in the deli every day.
At Kona’s, we are committed to the health and satisfaction of all our customers. We offer gluten-free bread, allowing those with gluten sensitivities to enjoy our sandwiches—including favorites like the "Destroyer"—without worry.

Steps from Cal Poly: We are proud to be the sandwich spot of the Cal Poly Mustangs. Located just across from campus near the corner of Foothill Blvd and Santa Rosa St, we’re the ultimate pit stop for students and faculty.
There’s plenty of parking and a relaxed atmosphere that lets you escape the downtown hustle for a bit.
Since 1989, this spot has been a staple of the San Luis Obispo community. Even after the 2010 fire, we rebuilt right here in the same location because we couldn't imagine being anywhere else.
